What’s the Facination?

facination

Have you ever thought about what attracts you to something, or to another person?

Our minds are being constantly bombarded with images, and impresses of things and people, what’s Good for us and what’s not so good for us.  How do we discern between what we enjoy or what we are taught to enjoy?

If we cannot get our own minds to give us a suitable response to questions that we ask of it, then where can we turn for help?  I have seen Therapists, Counselors, Psychologists, Social Workers, Practitioners, and Ministers, and each and every one of them have yet to straighten me out on this question.  Mostly, because I believe that I am smarter than each of them about how my mind works and what makes me tick as a human being.  I don’t conform to the ways of the world, and I believe I learned that through my Christian upbringing.  In Romans 2:12 it says to “not conform to the ways of the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of my mind…” and I must have taken that to heart at an early age.

I know that most of society would like us to fall into suit and obey the “law of the land,” but who makes those laws?  Man?  What if he or she is as defective as I am said to be or might be?  Do the masses get to say what “floats your boat” or will you stand on your own two feet and do what is best for you?

Each and every one of us deserves to live out our dreams, and what is so fascinating about life is that each of our dreams differ, yet society would have us all dress the same, speak the same, be thin, be sexy, be young, be technologically advanced, wealthy, obedient, and socially acceptable.  But what if you wanted to stand out from the crowd?  What if going against the grain was your “cup of tea?”  Would that make you unfit to join society or make you an outlaw or a rebel?

To live our dreams we have to be free to think and do as we would (of course, we shouldn’t be injuring others physically), but if it means that we don’t agree with our politicians, or the way the world is dictating social uniformity, or legalizing things we disapprove of, or making things we approve of illegal…what can we as human beings achieve in this life to bring about Peace and Harmony while so much turmoil seems to be present in what the “fascination of the day” is?

I don’t like being told what I can do, where I can do it, and when it needs to be done—but I do desire to live harmoniously with other human beings.  In a socially corrupt world, who are the winners?  If you feel like you are trapped by modern media, by the spirit of religion, by the soci-economic strategies of the grossly rich, by the limitations of your own personal freedoms—when will you become fascinated with bringing about change?  And most importantly—can you do it lovingly?

If Love is the animating force in the Universe—how we think about Love, how we show Love, and how we demonstrate the activity of Love, becomes primary!   Don’t wait around to be Love—be the thing you desire most!

Each and every one of us deserves to be loved, but that can’t happen until be begin learning what love truly is.  Not the Love this world tells us Love is—but the Love that reigns supreme in an organic institution—the Heart!  What does your heart say Love is?  If you can feel it without condition, and you can know it without reason, and you can share it without cause—you and I are on the right track.

I am fascinated by how many sciences try to conceive of Love as this conditional and quantifiable element.  But love has no qualities nor does it possess quantities.  Love is—and it cannot be described in words.  I am fascinated by this “kind” of Love—Loving Kindness!

When we give ourselves permission to love other human beings for who they are (hint:  human beings), and no longer feel a need to receive something from another or to give anything to another, but to share in the opening of hearts, looking deeply into the eyes of another and seeing yourself, then we are on the road to a peaceful world.

I see you—I am fascinated by you.

LOVE this! “When we give ourselves permission to love other human beings for who they are (hint: human beings), and no longer feel a need to receive something from another or to give anything to another, but to share in the opening of hearts, looking deeply into the eyes of another and seeing yourself, then we are on the road to a peaceful world.”
